Behind the Scenes

The City's communications division oversees the live broadcast of all public meetings. Some of these meetings are overseen from the control room located in City Hall. It holds equipment for playback, and the controls for broadcasting live meetings.

Communications staff use three remote-operated cameras, a video switcher, and an audio board for coverage of live meetings. To rebroadcast meetings and other programs, the Control Room uses a video server and an automated playback controller. Staff also creates, edits, and schedules the informative slides seen on the City 7 bulletin board which airs between meetings on channel 7 (Comcast/Xfinity).
